Lyrics
Verse 1
"Check Engine" light on my dash,
Two months or more it's been on.
I'm short on time, short on cash,
My poor engine, unchecked for too long.
Chorus
A bit of rust
A fender-bender ding or two,
This seatbelt won't retract near as far as it used to,
A squeaky belt
Gray filter and a leaky hose,
But when I hit the gas, it still goes.
Verse 2
I bought this car nearly new,
A dozen years ago,
I was happy, I had just met you,
But now you're gone, and this paint has lost its glow.
Chorus
Verse 3
I drive my car through this town,
A chirping sound accelerates with me,
I turn my music up loud,
No chirping sound, I'm flying free.
Chorus
